The Bays' first Hindu temple has been built in Tauranga. The Indian Community of Tauranga have formed Sanatan Dharm Trust to start the first Hindu temple in Tauriko. The Temple was opened in Sept 2012 with a big celebration. The committee has been celebrating all the major Hindu festivals. The community gets together to do their prayers on Friday evening followed by a sumptuous vegetarian feast all prepared lovingly by the volunteers.
