A letter from Joseph Tice Gellibrand (1826-1887) to Elizabeth Crapp née Gellibrand (1849-1894), his adopted daughter. Elizabeth's surname was Winspear at birth. She was later fostered by Joseph Tice Gellibrand and Selina Hannah Gellibrand and adopted their surname before marrying Arthur Algernon Crapp. She was known as Dottie to friends and family, hence the addressee.
