1901 December 23 - Domain Board set aside a northern section, beyond the cricket ground, for pigeon shooting, Bay of Plenty Times.
1901 December 30 - Pigeon shooting match held at the Domain, Bay of Plenty Times.
1912 January 26 - Committee appointed, following a meeting on 24 January at the Star Hotel, for those interested in forming a gun club, Bay of Plenty Times.
