Art Expo Gallery Exhibition (Rotorua)
SummaryIt’s great to write about the new exhibition that will be opening at the Art Expo Gallery on the 22nd June. The exhibition, featuring top Bay of Plenty artists, is called ’AhHa 2’.

It”s an interesting artspace featuring the work of artist Kristian Lomath and a number of other artists who have worked hard to establish a place for the visual arts in Rotorua over many years.
I have been a fan of Kristian Lomath paintings since I first visited the Art Expo Gallery last year and saw his highly expressive compositions on large loose canvases.
His is exciting, original artwork that deserves wide recognition.
Ten highly talented artists combine their talents to celebrate the Winter solstice and Matariki. They will show new work at the Art Expo Gallery for the month. The AhHa. 2. exhibition artists.
In the photo we see (top row) Sue Currie, George Andrews, Glenn McLeary, Pam Lyons Montgomery, Don Hunt and Ron van der Vlugt, Yvonne Westra, Ron Hall, Paul Nicolai and Kristian Lomath make up the bottom row. Glenn McLeary and Ron van der Vlugt will be joining the group for the first time.
The exhibition offers an opportunity for most of the artists to reconnect after the first ”AhHa” group show that got the Art Expo gallery underway in November 2007.

"Rotorua has a close arts community and it”s great to get together and collaborate on a show.

”Dog Gone” is another captivating oil painting by Rotorua artist Glenn McLeary. It joins an exciting body of well-executed work by this emerging artist.
The paintings of ”off-beat” subject matter with many possible interpretations are becoming increasingly sought after by collectors around New Zealand.
Rotorua makes a very rewarding ”art day out” when you also include the Red Spot Gallery and fabulous Artbox Gallery in Ngongotaha.
”AhHa 2” opens at 5pm on June 22 at the Arts Expo Gallery at 1141 Eruera Street. Everyone is welcome.
The Art Expo Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 5. 30pm.
