Thomas Jonas Booth lived the village of Rainhill near Liverpool, England from around 1859-1867 running a nursery as well as assisting his uncle (Thomas Nuttall) with his collection of species. Thomas Nuttall, an eminent botanist and lecturer at Harvard University, inherited his uncle's estate, Nutgrove Hall, close to Rainhill.
