That wasn't what wanted Maaori.
Maaori wanted to be rangatira of their own land.
They didn't want British to rule their land.
So they went to war.
The British ambushed Maaori.
The Maaori plan was better.
They jumped out of their hiding place and “bang,”
went their musket and taiaha.
I toa nga Maaori te pakanga o Pukehinahina!
