Missy Rogue Knitta snapped craftbombing.

In the photo we see Missy Rogue Knitta  installing Tauranga's first knit graffiti, called 'wuru wai', on the fountain occupying the downtown corner of Grey and Spring Streets.

They are inspired by all those fabulous like-minded 'craftivists' out there who have been gently tagging away, trying to make the world a warmer and fuzzier place…a world where craft is taken to another level and turned into something special to be enjoyed by everyone out in the streets. The Craft Bomber Association is turning craft that some might think near-extinct, into street art.

Craft Bomber Installations - 'We Love New Zealand'.  

The CBA's second installation also 'happened' downtown - on Elizabeth Street. 'We love New Zealand' features re-cycled woollen jumpers made into two tree cosies with the message, 'New Zealand - Keep it Beautiful - Love - Aotearoa' stitched onto both.

Missy Rogue Knitta and Mista Slip Stitch are on the constant look-out for locations to be 'knit-tagged'. They started looking at their surroundings differently, taking in details, good or bad, that could do with a bit of woollen enhancement. The Craft Bomber Association is now working on a new project to coincide with the Garden & Art Festival in November. Hopefully members’ art will also mysteriously appear at the Creative Tauranga Art Fair in the CBD on the March 19, 2011. 

They are also looking for interested people who would like to join the Craft Bomber Association.
