Jack's WW1 diary records:
"25 Thursday Anzac Day. No Parades. Only Church Parade in morning. Princess 21st Birthday. Went to Hornchurch Pictures. Had supper in Y.M. Had photo taken in a group of Tauranga boys. 2/- per half dozen."
Previous entries mention Bill Olliver and Jack Wright both from Tauranga. Other names mentioned include Percy Revell and Bert Seales.
George Baikie arrived in Hornchurch on 22 April.
Jack and George were previously both in Rugely Hospital (near Brocton, Staffordshire) with measles contracted while en route to England.
