Handwritten on reverse "Moving machinery Kaimai Summit". The Kaimai road was widened and reconstructed in 1939 and 1940. Survey and drilling a Kaimai tunnel began in 1965. The original tea rooms were built in 1963. This photo is identified with tea rooms at the top of the Kaimais "where the cold Kaimai water came from". FormatPrint
