He worked on Aircraft engines during WWII in New Zealand and the Pacific (1945 and 1946). Photographs of the first bridge with it's supporting column in the centre which was destroyed by the water running through the spillway . The replacement bridge has no supporting column. Taken in the 1940s. Although begun in 1940 the dam wasn't finished until 1947. FormatPrint
