From album belonging to Marjory Evelyn Hewlett (nee Shaw), 1914-2008, who was a "land girl" on the Hume farm from 1940 until her discharge at the end of the war. She milked the cows and worked in the market garden where vegetables were grown to send overseas to the troops. They grew tomatoes, cabbages, carrots, potatoes, onions, and asparagus.
