| Notes that during a visit to Tauranga, the Premier stated that some of the State Departments would be able to lend money for a proposed water supply, if they had particulars.
The Council has now adopted a report on the proposal of a water supply from Mr Wilson, Civil Engineer, with an estimated cost of not more than £12,000, and are taking steps under the "Local Bodies Loans Act" to obtain a loan.
The Council hope that as Colonial Treasurer, Sir Joseph, can inform if a loan can be obtained from any government departments and at what rate of interest.
Outlines loan proposal, including security for the loan to be a special rate of two shillings in the pound, for a period of thirty years without a sinking fund.
Notes that 'it is absolutely necessary for the health of the Town and for security against fire that we should have a water supply for Tauranga', and that this is a 'rather unusual request'.
