The station was built in 1936 and closed in 1964 when a new one was built on the same sight. This to has now been superseded by the new station due to open on 1st august. 2013. The house on the left was occupied by the officer in charge and the house on the right of the station just visible was also a police house. This house was used as office space in 1959 after the constable living in it was when the station closed in 1964. Tauranga then had a staff of 25.
