DescriptionAcknowledgement Tauranga Heritage Collection. Princess Mary Tin. This tin was used to house Christmas presents given to WW1 troops in 1914. It is known as a Princess Mary Tin as she lent her name to the national cause of fundraising enough money to give a present to every allied soldier in 1914.
