Description: Four Winds Farm is a historic farmhouse built in 1932 for Denis and Sylvia Knowles in Ōtūmoetai, Tauranga. Designed by Sylvia Knowles née Scott-Snell and constructed by Tonkin & Carswell of Elizabeth Street, for the house originally served as a simple single-story farmhouse and cost £1,467 17s 6d to build.

A 16-acre lemon orchard quickly accompanied the property. The name "Four Winds Farm" originates from the book Four Winds Farm by Mrs. Molesworth, published in 1887.SourcesBay of Plenty Times, September 11, 2006 p8
