Button and Aldis were barristers and solicitors in Auckland, who took on the practice of Messrs Phillips and Maltby in Tauranga in December 1916, advertising their firm in the Bay of Plenty Times on 18 December 1916 and through to November 1919.
Mr G.C. Maltby, had been practising in Tauranga for three years, and left to join the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve in England.
Judge Button "who is well known in large circles in the Dominion", also took up residence in Tauranga in later 1916.
In July 1921 the Wanganui Chronicle were advertising a name and location change - Morton Aldis at Victoria Court, Victoria Avenue, Whanganui.
