SummaryHarington Street Hall was built in 1866, in 1873 it was also called Fraser's Hall. In August 1893 it was refitted and opened as the Theatre Royal.
The building was demolished in 1967.
It hosted meetings, shows, and was "the first hall in Tauranga to show 'living pictures'". The Post Office relocated here briefly after the 1902 fire burnt down the Government Buildings (1874-1902). During winter in 1909 C.C. Norris ran a public skating rink in the building.
In 1981 Guiness Bros driveway was located on the Harington Street address.
