DescriptionMaungawhare's History:

The original 17.5-hectare block was purchased by Henry Stainforth Brabant in 1878.
The property was initially called "Woodhill" and later renamed "Maungawhare" by Harry Bell Johnstone, who purchased it in 1884. He was responsible for planting exotic trees and shrubs.
Ownership passed to the Baigent family in 1908.
Later Developments:

By 1940, a residual block of just over 3 hectares was acquired by Kristian and Mary Revfeim, who removed many trees during a subdivision in the 1950s.
The current 0.8-hectare property is owned by the J & H Revfeim Family Trusts and protected by a covenant with the Tauranga District Council, ensuring tree preservation and limited public access to the parklands.
