She provided premises for the Mount Maunganui Information Centre free of charge.
In 1979 she received the Queen's Service Medal for community service.
In the same year she also received the Mount Maunganui Rotary Club's Certificate of Appreciation for meritorious service to the the Mount Maunganui Community for her long service to several organisations:
