SummaryVic Smith was born in Tauranga. After leaving school at 15, he worked planting trees in Taupō and sulphur mining on Whakaari/ White Island. He began a transport business, 'Victor Transport' later involving taxis and a fleet of buses.
After retiring in 1967, he continued farming and committee work.
He received a British Empire Medal in 1976.
