The new Tauranga civic building in Willow Street included installation of $30,000 of new leadlighting and restoring of old stained glass windows from the old Town Hall windows, by Viewpoint Studio,
Paula Denniston's panel
"Designed to reflect the nature of the library. Vowels are splashed across the three sections of the work and the window passes through a poutamu (growth), intellect, a void then to a maze - "because there's always a maze in life." A cut crystal placed in the centre of a sea of yellow symbolises light outside a door at the start of the maze. "There's a little bit of every culture in the work" she said." Bay of Plenty Times, 21 April 1989.
A leadlight artist for two and half years, Tauranga artist Paula was disappointed with the placement, in the centre of the building, facing out to the main entrance on Willow Street. Architect Ian Carter said the building was designed to last 100 years and 'eventually the panel would be backed by the library when expansion of the facility reached that particular section'.
