- Mr Edgecumbe's cousin, Lord Mount-Edgecumbe's daughter is to be one of the bridesmaids to HRH the Duke of Connaught at the oncoming Royal marriage. 21 January 1879.
- Public presentation. 50 guineas and illuminated address. In reply said his position (while Chair of Town Board) had not been easy and he knew he had made many enemies. Mr Redmond thanked Mr Edgecumbe for never having said a bad word about workers in the paper. 25 January 1879.

1882:

1884: Advert. I have this day appointed Mr John A. Clarke my sole attorney and agent to collect all my debts due to me as proprietor of the late Tauranga Telegraph newspaper etc. Bay of Plenty Times, 1 April 1884.
1890:
- Death of. On 20th ult in Melbourne. Former proprietor of the Bay of Plenty Times, sold to George Vesey Stewart in 1879, repurchased it in 1882, sold it again to Stewart in 1883. Bay of Plenty Times, 14 July 1890.
