H.P. Anderson (Harold Peter) first applied for a building permit to erect a Men's Outfitters shop in February of 1952 and again in June for a permit to add upper story accommodations. The builer was A.H. Pilbrow. It was then 29 The Strand, Lot I, D.P. 1706. Anderson's building has spent much of its life as clothing stores and menswear outfitters. It has hosted businesses such as such as Bay Outfitters (“The Suit Kings”), Anderson & Willcock, Harold Anderson’s menswear, and later R. Rutter Draper and Warnock’s Drapery. Anderson's long tenure included as partner with Wilcock and on his own as “The Trouser King". Main Body
