1975: Seaside course is unique. Bay of Plenty Times, 26 November 1975.
1979: Ōmokoroa 100 acre golf course to be designed by Harry Dale, Mount Maunganui. Bulldozers on job. American style hole with lake hazard. 6000 metres. 11 temporary greens planted. Seven permanent greens ready for treatment and sowing. First official tournament. Bay of Plenty Times, 2 November 1977.
1978: Western Bay of Plenty Golf Links Society. Bay of Plenty Times, 6 May 1978.
1979: Ōmokoroa official opening on 18 March 1979. To be in attendance C.B Townshend, MP for Kaimai, and T.C.C. Chair E.K. Barnett. Nine holes completed. Nine to be finished as funds available.
