SummaryCharles Innes Earle Haslock (c.1901–1982) was a British Army officer and later a local historian based in Tauranga, New Zealand. He served in the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and saw active service during the Second World War. After emigrating to New Zealand in 1966, he settled in Welcome Bay and became closely involved with the Tauranga Historical Society, serving as Secretary and Treasurer.
Haslock contributed to the Journal of the Tauranga Historical Society, including the article “Conditions in England when the Settlement of New Zealand was Commenced” (Journal No. 38), and a published talk, “British Armed Forces in New Zealand” (Journal No. 58). In 1969 he was appointed registrar of historical material for a proposed Tauranga museum.
