SummaryThe Welcome Bay Settlers’ Association Incorporated was a community and district-improvement society based at Welcome Bay, Tauranga. Its constitution and rules were adopted at a general meeting at Welcome Bay on 27 January 1949, and an application for incorporation was signed the same day by local residents including F. D. Lauder, H. G. Johnston, R. J. Sorrenson, R. A. Parkes, A. G. Rimmer, members of the Pennington, Rolfe, Johnston and Keam families, and others.

Its stated objects were the promotion and protection of the interests of Welcome Bay and surrounding districts, especially the educational, entertainment and welfare interests of settlers, residents and visitors. The rules empowered it to provide rooms, books, papers, information and accommodation; run lectures, classes, examinations and gatherings; lobby on legislation and public matters; acquire, lease, improve and manage property; borrow money; and support charitable or public purposes.

The society's charter, and some correspondence between 1957 and 1967 make up Ams 538.

The Settlers’ Association was superseded around 1977–1981 by a Residents’ Association that operated informally for much of the 1980s, before formal incorporation in 1989, dissolving in 2000.
