SummaryFormer Forbes Garage at 116 Willow Street, Tauranga, was built in 1926 for George Forbes & Co and G. Forbes and H. Cairns as a concrete motor garage. It served Tauranga’s early motor trade, with petrol bowsers on the south side, a Dodge dealership by 1928, and lubrication, workshop, paint and panel-beating areas. The street front had a truncated gabled façade, roughcast plaster centre and ashlar-imitation pilasters. Later used by Laurie Young Menswear.
