He upoko Hawaiki te tangata nei a Riini Paraire. I hono ia ki ngā waka e rua o Te Arawa, o Mātaatua. Ko Te Arawa, ko Ngāiterangi ko Ngāti Pukenga tāna iwi, he manu kōrero ia mō tāna hapū o Ngā Potiki hoki i te wā o mua. He nui tāna kaha ki te tuku i tāna mātauranga me te mōhiotanga i ngā mea katoa o te ao kohatu ki ngā reanga i tipu ake, kia kore ai e ngaro. I tōna wā, i tū ia hei pou whirinaki mo tāna iwi ki Tauranga Moana whānui.
