Gordon Crosby and Thelma Crosby: Arrival in Pāpāmoa in 1966; purchase and operation of the Pāpāmoa Holiday Camp; early housing and roads; Pāpāmoa School and its swimming pool; Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies; creation of an early community meeting place; formation of the local fire party; bore water and town water reticulation; Thelma’s real-estate work and early subdivisions; community fundraising, halls and the surf lifesaving club; reserves, proposed schools, local government changes and Pāpāmoa’s later growth.
Dave Gallon and Dorothy “Dot” Gallon: Moving to Pāpāmoa in 1975; early settlement around Dickson and Domain roads; rural land, beach access, fishing and family life; Pāpāmoa Playcentre and school; Lions Club projects; construction of the surf club and school facilities; Pāpāmoa Community Council, rates, roading and sewerage; establishment and fundraising for Pāpāmoa Sports; community life and reactions to urban development.
