Collection SummaryThe Tauranga Joint Generation Committee (TJGC) was established on 30 October 1965 under local legislation as a joint undertaking of the Tauranga City Council and Tauranga Electric Power Board, with equal representation from both authorities. It developed and administered hydro-electric generation within the Wairoa River catchment, including the Lloyd Mandeno, Lower Mangapapa and Ruahihi schemes, and managed the decommissioned McLaren Falls Powerhouse.
