18-Pounder Shell Casing Cap (Threads of Memory, 2015)

Date2015DescriptionIn 2015 John Foster came in to the Tauranga City Libraries to remember his great grandfather John McLaren Lett, as part of the Threads of Memory project. He owns a metal cap that his grandfather made out of an 18pounder shell casing whilst in the Passchendaele trenches. He used buttons, ribbon and insignia from his uniform to adorn the cap.
