(Work on rail bridge began in 1914 but was not completed until 1924; Mount Maunganui to Te Puke section of the rail was completed in 1913.) On back in pen: Tauranga / Jan.26th / Dear Ted, / Thanks very much for your letter but you make too much of it - it's not such a great feat for I don't think I came through by much of a margin. / This picture is at the Mount. Have marked the Railway (4) Wharf and yard; also the place where the main line is to cross over to Tga (5). Have also marked our (2) house & the Railway quarry on Moturiki Island. Have marked the Pāpāmoa Hills (3) - a little over 1/2 way to Te Puke. Thanking you again Yours gratefully / R. A. Ward
