Rena Oil spill on Pāpāmoa Beach

Main BodyUploaded by and copyrighted to andyglive on Oct 13, 2011 I had to visit my beloved beaches, Pāpāmoa and Mt Maunganui (Thursday 13th October 2011) to see for myself what has happened after a container ship named 'Rena' grounded on the Astrolabe reef near Mōtītī island. The ship is falling apart and because of this, my beautiful beaches are covered in think slimy oil.
