Musical Notes from Poland- Living In Harmony, TRMC event 2011
SummaryLiving in Harmony evening on 9th November 2011, at Village Hall, Historic Village at 17th Ave, Tauranga Main BodyA group of Polish immigrants who made Tauranga their home for between 4 months and 60 years, got together and organized a fabulous evening of music, songs, poetry and art. The highlight of the evening was music of Frederic Chopin (Fryderyk Szopen) played by a talented pianist Magda James and violinist Urszula Kint, as well as a Korean student Justin.
Also several Polish and Kiwi children played piano, flute and sang songs; Darah the 6 years old Kiwi girl was an absolute delight to see and hear when she sang Polish song with a perfect Polish pronunciation and accent. Zbyszek and Grazyna Bojarski visited from Hamilton dressed in beautiful nobles' costumes, two little Polish girls came dressed up in costumes from the Crakow (Krakow) region. A generous spread of Polish food was enjoyed by all (around 110 attended).
