Part of the Living in Harmony series that TRMC have been organising successfully to bring the culture of various ethnic groups to forefront. The idea of this evening was to get the various communities living in Greerton to know each other. The starting point was the shop owners from different communities right from Chinese, Korean, Cambodian, French, English, Fijian Indian, Thai, Māori, Filipino and others . This evening was organized by TRMC with help of Victoria Thomas, Mainstreet Greerton Manager.
Held at the Greerton Village School Hall , this evening was also a chance for participants to not only get to know each other and the cultures of their countries of origin, but also to promote the business they have in Greerton, or the work they do there.
The evening was a success. Participants ate great variety of ethnic food. The potluck dinner is a great social occasion for everyone to meet in a safe, relaxed atmosphere and make friends.Participants talked a lot and were entertained by a very good Filipino dance group and Indian performers. We listen to many stories about China, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Ukraine and Poland.
