SummaryEach year Tauranga is well represented at Rotorua’s Wearable Creationz Art Exhibition. Main Body
Ever since the very first show in 2003 Wearable Creationz has grown in quality and popularity.
The event, hosted by the Rotorua Creative Art Trust, has become a world class spectacular with dramatic lighting and sound.
A very successful and highly regarded Art Exhibition will also be on show in August at the Energy Events Centre on Queen’s Drive.
An increasing number of Tauranga artists have their work displayed at the exhibition and this year is no exception.
Following an opening for invited guests on the Sunday 12th August the art exhibition opens to the public on Monday 13th August free of charge.
The exhibition will be open daily after this for a week from 9 am to 4pm with hours extended to 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
Based on previous years experience it is expected that many thousands of visitors will take the opportunity before and after the Wearable Creationz event to view the 2012 art exhibition.

This year’s display will be one of the biggest art exhibitions ever held in the region with over 300 pieces of art from over 80 artists mostly from the Bay of Plenty.
Well known Tauranga artists Linda Munn, Rex O’Brien, Janice Giles and Mandy Williams will exhibit work and I was also excited to hear that pieces by the exceptionally talented Tauranga artist Simone Anderson will also be on show.
Featuring established artists to High School students a diverse offering of both two and three dimensional work will be on display.
The exhibition is designed to delight all those that visit as well as providing valuable exposure for up and coming artists.

Organiser Mijo Katavic says "the exhibition offers a fantastic viewing experience and the opportunity to meet artists at work during scheduled daily displays providing a fresh alternative way to enjoy art".
With the valued support from sponsors and the many hours of voluntary work by curatorial assistants last year’s exhibition was hailed a great success and is destined to become a signature art event nationally.
