It was registered in Paeroa as c/o Provincial Heaton's Limited. Heaton's operated from 1948 to 1991 (1991-1999 in receivership). Front row: Burnie State, Dick Harnet, Ted Kirk, Des Priest, Gordon Johnstone, Bill Watts. From "Bay of Plenty Publishing, Buyers Market, July 1980": The company officially had it's beginning in the 1930s when the late Mr J. C. Heaton formed Heaton's Transport. However, he had been operating as a carrier in the area for about ten years before then. . . carried much of the metal which helped turn that rough road into what is today Cameron Road" . . . contracted to cart pipes to Kawerau pulp and paper mill'.
