The unit recorded 66 interviews in three years. This interview with Mrs Vera Cross (nee Gifford) is one of these. It was recorded in her home in Harvey Street, Tauranga. Alice (Vera) was born in 1897 to William and Alice Gifford. She arrived in Tauranga in 1913 aged 15. Vera married William Cross in 1919. In 1925 she joined the Tauranga Croquet Club and was an active member for more than 40 years. She was made a life member in 1962.
