Broadcaster and Village Radio volunteer, James Hartstonge, founded the Tauranga District Museum Oral History Unit in 1988. The unit recorded 66 interviews in three years. This interview with Mrs Doris Nell (nee Blyth) is one of these. It was recorded at her home in 14th Avenue, Tauranga. The recording is 46:18 minutes.
Doris was born in 1899 to Mary and Thomas Blyth. Doris married Arnold Nell in 1926. She began her career as a school teacher but she was best known as a radio broadcaster specialising in consumer affairs.
