Rebecca Violet Simons (Vi) was the granddaughter of George Crabbe who owned the store in Cameron Road. Her father Charles Crabbe married Rebecca Johnston daughter of Noble Johnston one of the Katikati settlers. She was born in Tauranga in 1900. Vi married Samuel L. Simons. She owned a private hospital and practiced as a midwife for many years.
