With its strong photographic emphasis driven by local events and everyday locals it was very popular. Even today it is remembered fondly by those who discover it within Tauranga Library's He Puna Wānanga.DescriptionLocal editor and photographer Tony A'Hern donated this set of Photo News negatives, which includes many images never actually published. Although this professional photographic collection begins February 1969 and concludes September 1970, the magazine they supported was first published in June 1962, with support from Renwood Studio's Adrian Orr (Cameron Road). Tauranga City Libraries has the full set of the Tauranga and Bay of Plenty Photo News. These comprise 10 bound volumes:

• Volume 1: (No. 1-10) 28 June 1962 to 30 March 1963
• Volume 2: (No. 11-20) 27 April 1963 to 8 February 1964
• Volume 3: (No. 21-30) 7 March 1964 to 14 November 1964
• Volume 4: (No. 31-40) 12 December 1964 to 18 September 1965
• Volume 5: (No. 41-50) 16 October 1965 to 23 July 1966
• Volume 6: (No. 51-60) 20 August 1966 to 27 May 1967
• Volume 7: (No. 61-70) 24 June 1967 to 6 April 1968
• Volume 8: (No 71-80) 4 May 1968 to 8 February 1969
• Volume 9: (No. 81-90) 8 March 1969 to 18 November 1969
• Volume 10: (No. 91-100) 13 December 1969 to 18 September 1970

The printed and bound Tauranga and Bay of Plenty editions can be viewed on site within Tauranga City Library's He Puna Wānanga (Research Collections). Other libraries within New Zealand have digitised their actual magazines, you can see these online (see sources below).
