After the camp grounds is Hotel Oceanside and the township with Hopukiore (Mount Drury) in the background. Similar to tcl-image-98-014. Ocean Lodge (later Hotel Oceanside or Oceanside Hotel), owned by Major Stewart since 1918, is sold and from 1932 converted into a private guest house for Mr Walker Howard. In 1933 it is damaged by fire and rebuilt. 1935 it is sold to Bert Taylor. After WWII it is bought by James and Florence Rix. In 1954 the hotels first liquor licence is bought. from 1959 Bill and Jeab Fenton took over as Licensee's for two years.
