This is likely the Avro 504 hired by the Tauranga Aero Club for training prospective pilots. The Aero Club was formed in 1932 under the presidency of Hilda Hewlett. Captain Brake trained local businessman Tom Baikie, who became the first locally trained pilot, completing his maiden flight in October of 1932.
