Clemson, architect, offices on 1st floor. Lady on left Mary Ann Culpitt (Nee Pye), and her husband, James Arthur Culpitt. Married 1909, James died 1919. Lady on right may be Kate Evelyn Pye. Mary Ann later married Joseph Paul (early 1920s).
Published in the Bay of Plenty Times' "Back in time" feature on 9 June 2001. Captioned "The Triangle buildings at the bottom of Devonport Road were erected in 1911 for Colin Norris and George Bell. The edge of the harbour was still very close to The Strand and, in spite of the concrete sea wall, whose top can still be seen in the grass at the southern end of The Strand, water often found its way into the shops in easterly weather".
