Date1919Reference NumberPhoto 99-1433DescriptionErecting power lines from Ōmanawa Falls power station. A 33,000 volt line crossed Otawa Range to serve Muirs Reef and Te Puke. Three miles of heavy bush had to be felled and because of difficulty of access, structures of two- inch pipe sections and precast concrete anchor blocks were used in place of poles.
