Datec.1916Reference NumberPhoto 06-385DescriptionTalisman Hotel, Katikati, circa 1916. Hotel opened 26 November 1888. Written in pen on back: "Coaches may have averaged about 6 miles per hour in summer conditions, depart Waihī Post Office 9 am arrived Kati Kati Hotel 12 lunchtime, Stables were next door south. The late Bill Roycroft driver, in white shirt, aged then around 24. Bill Calderwood in Cap. he had a cordial factory in Waihī photo taken about 1916 when I was 10 years of age. Bob Arscott had the Hotel in 1920 from page 81 "An Ulster Plantation" Arthur J. Grey [sic]. in 1925 a blacksmith shop occupied the sight [sic] where the Stables were situated. Notes made 15-9-83.
