Local retiree Rodney Giddens began an undertaking to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga's CBD in 2015 and 2016. Though initially interested in capturing Art Deco buildings, he ended up photographing other buildings as well.
This was the summer home in the 1930s of Sir John McKenzie of the department stores and the Charity the McKenzie Trust. More recently belonged to William Taylor, solicitor and is now about to be demolished and replaced by luxury apartments. On west side of the street overlooking the estuary.
