Local retiree Rodney Giddens began an undertaking to provide a photographic record of shop fronts from the roadside of Tauranga's CBD in 2015 and 2016. Though initially interested in capturing Art Deco buildings, he ended up photographing other buildings as well.

This is the probable site of the Grand Templars' Hall or Temperance Hall from 1874 to 1900. it was known as the Red Cross Rooms in 1960s and 70s. Rooms were hired out for meetings of other Societies such as the Tauranga Stamp Club. At some stage the site was subdivided and a house built at the rear.
