The photograph is mounted on a card and on the reverse is printed: "Photographed by - H. WEBSTER - AUCKLAND". There is an A.N. BROWN COLLECTION stamp on the reverse. The women are not named, however on a photocopied page of a photograph album donated to the Turnbull Library by a descendent of Colonel Greer, the two women are identified as: "Motiti - Mother and daughter".
