The card has a design embossed onto it, forming a decorative border around the photograph. The procession is walking down a dirt road, and is led by armed soldiers, soldiers also escort the coffin that is carried on a cart, with horses and carts in the procession behind. On the back of the card is stamped: "R.W. Meers, Photo, Tauranga". There is a sheet of lined paper that has been glued onto the back of the card..
